A Summer of New Investment Across Missouri

As Labor Day brings the unofficial close of summer and we eagerly anticipate the next season of celebrations for Missouri, we also reflect with gratitude on the whirlwind of project announcements, groundbreakings, and ribbon cuttings we saw across the state this summer. Let’s take a brief glance at the array of announcements and celebrations from the past few months. 

Ace Hardware Announced it Chose Kansas City, Missouri for its Largest Retail Support Center to Date in June

Ace Hardware Corporation announced Kansas City, Missouri will become home to its newest and largest Retail Support Center (RSC) to address the company’s growing retail sector and enhance its distribution network. The new Ace RSCwill be the first building at Missouri’s largest contiguous industrial site, KCI 29 Logistics Park, located next to the new $1.5 billion Kansas City International Airport terminal.

“We look forward to construction of the new Retail Support Center in Kansas City, which will be a critical part of Ace Hardware’s robust supply chain,” said Lori Bossmann, Executive Vice President, Chief Supply Chain Officer for Ace Hardware Corporation. “This new facility will allow Ace to accommodate its recent growth and sales volume, and it will prepare our company for future business opportunities. By strengthening our presence in the Midwest, Ace will be better positioned to fulfill deliveries more frequently, ensuring consistent service levels as new stores are opening within our network.”

Carlisle Construction Materials Celebrated the Opening of its new Sikeston, Missouri facility with a Ribbon Cutting in June

Carlisle Construction Materials (CCM) invested more than $100 million in a nearly 500,000-square-foot production and manufacturing facility in Sikeston, Missouri. The company’s executives andlocal, regional, and state leaders gathered for a ribbon cutting ceremony at the brand new facility in June. CCM chose Missouri for its central location and favorable business conditions. The facility is set to create 100 jobs and was built with sustainability in mind, targeting LEED Platinum status. 

“We at Carlisle are grateful for the warm welcome we have received from the State of Missouri and the people of Sikeston,” said Steve Schwar, President of Carlisle Construction Materials. “This brand-new plant, which will create 100 jobs in the Sikeston region, is Carlisle’s second location in Missouri. Carlisle is committed to success and growth here in Sikeston, which is an ideal location to serve our strategic and growing markets.” Schwar continued, “As a company, Carlisle is very focused on being a good steward of the environment. That’s why this plant, which produces energy-efficient insulation products, was built with the goal of achieving LEED Platinum status, which is a globally recognized symbol of superior sustainability achievement.”

Hallmark Celebrated the Expansion of its Liberty, Missouri Campus with a New 850,000-quare-oot Facility in July 

Hallmark officially opened its new Liberty II Distribution Center, an extension of its existing Liberty Distribution Center in Kansas City. This expansion has increased the company’s presence in Liberty by 50%, where it has been operating for more than 50 years. The expansion aims to accommodate more than 1,400 full-time employees across both facilities along with approximately 150 seasonal part-time employees.

Impact Signs Broke Ground on its New Headquarters and Manufacturing Facility in Sedalia, Missouri in July

Impact Signs broke ground on a new 50,000-square-foot state-of-the-art headquarters and manufacturing facility in Sedalia, Missouri, investing nearly $10 million. The expansion aims to accommodate growth while maintaining around 50 employees. The facility will include corporate offices, a showroom, expanded manufacturing, and greater production space. Impact Signs, which has a solid reputation in the sign industry, serves clients across the U.S. by offering comprehensive visual communication and branding solutions. The facility is situated in the Thompson Meadows Industrial Park in Sedalia.

“Launched in Sedalia over 25 years ago, Impact Signs has been a steadfast and quality employer for well over 2 decades here in Sedalia,” said Rusty Kahrs, President of Economic Development – Sedalia Pettis County’s Board of Directors. “These new jobs will be a wonderful addition to our community and Thompson Meadows Industrial Park.”

US Motor Works Announced the Selection of Liberty, Missouri for its new 167,000-square-foot Distribution Center in August

US Motor Works, a prominent manufacturer and distributor of after-market automotive parts, is set to invest $19.2 million in a new 167,000-square-foot distribution center in Liberty, Missouri. The strategic choice of Missouri is attributed to its central location, skilled workforce, and business-friendly environment. The distribution center will allow the company to better serve its customers and accommodate continued growth without space limitations. This move aligns with Missouri’s reputation as a logistics hub and a favorable destination for businesses seeking efficient supply chain operations.

“Being centrally located in the U.S. and specifically in the Kansas City area, our new facility will be three days away from 90% of the country by truck,” said Gil Benjamin, President and CEO of US Motor Works. “This new distribution center will not only allow us to serve our customers better, but it will also allow our products and brands to continue growing without space limitations.”
