39 North Agtech Innovation District Celebrates Five Year Anniversary

June 27, 2022 by Staff Reporter

39 North, Missouri’s premier agtech innovation community, is celebrating its fifth anniversary. 39 North was announced to great fanfare, and is named after the region’s position on the 39th parallel of latitude, which covers many of the world’s top agricultural locations.

The 600-acre innovation district in St. Louis, Missouri, is anchored by the Danforth Plant Science Center, Bio-Research & Development Growth (BRDG) Park, the Helix Center Biotech Incubator, Bayer CropScience, and the Yield Lab.

Since its inception in 2017, 39 North has experienced significant growth. In fact, in the past five years, more than $64 million in infrastructure investments alone have been made in 39 North.

39 North is geared toward providing the lifestyle often sought by today’s highly skilled scientific workers, with a mix of retail, residential, and office space connected by walking and biking trails.

Missouri’s agtech industry is leading the way with innovative technology and research in plant science and animal health that is transforming agriculture. Across Missouri, leading agtech organizations including the Danforth Plant Science Center, Bayer CropScience, Boehringer Ingelheim, the Missouri Botanical Garden, Yield Lab, DuPont, BASF, Bunge, and more are developing new technology that is transforming agriculture.
