The Housing Authority of the City of Jefferson named a new executive director Tuesday as the current director heads into retirement.
Michelle Wessler will take over the position from Cynthia Quetsch.
Wessler has been with the Housing Authority for 18 years, most recently as the chief housing officer.
She’s also worked with the Missouri Housing Development Commission, private developers and property managers.
Dennis Mueller, chairman of the board of commissioners, said Wessler’s broad housing background makes her the ideal person to lead the Housing Authority to the next level of providing safe, decent and affordable housing for low-income individuals.
“Over the years, Michelle has worked tirelessly to make living in public housing a positive experience for both residents and staff,” he said. “We appreciate her willingness to serve as the executive director.”
